Marketing Officer - Music

A full-time position in the Marketing Department, that helps to ensure the successful execution of a year-round marketing plan. The highest concentration of this work is from January to March and during the months of October and November. (Vacation time is not allowed during these times.) The Marketing Officer will assist all SOA departments in the proper presentation of SOA publications and of the proper use and presentation of SOA branding tools (logos, fonts, photos, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital and Print Media Management/Creation
Working with (and under the direction of) the Director of Marketing, help coordinate the design, production and distribution of signature Sarasota Opera marketing materials (single ticket brochure, web site, prospecting piece, etc.) with outside design firms.

Based on the above:

Lead in the creation/management of digital marketing materials and assets including (but not limited to):
website updates and management of content and format, including (subject to funding) the content and format for custom mobile devices;
coordinating and designing SOA email newsletters including maintaining schedule and updating available email lists;
working with the Communications Officer, administer SOA social networking initiatives including, but not limited to, Facebook Twitter, FourSquare, etc.
As required by the Director of Marketing, create and design print ads, postcards, flyers, brochures, concert programs, posters, signage and branding materials.
Coordinate graphics production including working with vendors (printers and mail houses) to schedule and ensure timely production and delivery of marketing materials.
Monitor and report on all data regarding website, eBlast and other analytics.
Provide graphic support to the Development and the Youth Opera departments.
Support activities in promotional programs and advertising including coordination of printing, copy editing, shipping and delivery of materials.


Marketing and Communications

Assist Marketing Director in the execution of the SOA marketing plan.
Work with Communications Officer to help disseminate SOA press and information releases through electronic media and website.
Create and administer the SOA print media advertising schedule.
Serve as a liaison with SOA marketing volunteers.
Help coordinate and staff marketing outreach and events.
Develop and manage partnerships with local business to help support opera communications efforts and create value-added items for opera patrons.
Group Sales: In conjunction with the Box Office and under the direction of the Director of Marketing, develop, coordinate and implement a Group Sales Marketing Plan including, but not limited to:
Up-dating, developing, and maintaining the Group Sales leads list;
Developing custom packages and marketing materials for outside groups and organizations (such as opera guilds and service clubs);
Actively contacting and administrating group sales prospects and clients;
Meeting budgeted group sales goals.
