General Producer

The General Producer is responsible producing a quality novela in all the dimensions of the production that meets and exceeds all the expectations. This position is a RUN OF SHOW position.




Responsibilities
-Develops a preliminary budget for the proposed project

-Prepares a detailed proposal that entails potential costs, a marketing and distribution plan, and profit projection

-Works closely with HR and Finance to hire production team based on requirements and budget

-Negotiates salaries for newly hired employees based on their qualifications and production budget

-Oversees the hiring and selection of Talent in collaboration with the Executive Producer which involves supervising and finalizing contracts and maintaining thorough communications with agencies and talent upon hiring

-Supervises and approves choices provided by the Production Coordinator on the living arrangements for talent (i.e. housing, cars, utilities)

-Prepares a pre-production project plan with all the tasks to be completed in order to ensure a timely start of production

-Coordinates and makes decisions along with the Executive Producer on the selection and negotiation of exterior locations to be used during the production

-Selects and approves music to be used for production and ensures the contract is fulfilled

-Coordinates with the Operations Department to ensure that all equipment is ready for use according to the production needs

-Ensures that all technical employees attend the necessary trainings before production starts (i.e. EHS, HR)

-Creates a production plan including the project timeframe and proposed minutes to be shot and aired per week

-Responsible for regularly reviewing budget expenditures and shooting schedule status

-Approves or denies any departmental requests for additional personnel or materials

necessary

-Oversees and approves the hiring of new talent during the development of the production

-Ensures that every departments stays under budget by maintaining constant communication with department heads

-Establishes productions goals for each week and communicates them to the Supervisor Producer

-Negotiates exterior locations and other shooting logistics in order to facilitate production

-Works closely with the talent to ensure that they arrive to the shootings on time and that they are satisfied with the production

-Negotiates with the Talent Development department at the Telemundo Network offices in regards to talent participation in the promotions of events while taking into consideration the production needs

-Reviews daily production plan and suggests changes as appropriate

-Reviews and ensures accuracy of production timesheets by comparing them to daily shooting length for each unit

-Monitors continuity of advertising products placed in the production by informing the writer as to what scenes need to be accommodated for the advertising product to appear, keeping the editors updated on what names need to appear in the ending credits, and coordinating with appropriate Sales Representative as the desired visual look and appearance of the advertising product

-Reviews final product after it is edited checking its quality and final time

-Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

-Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Studios' infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures

-Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment

-Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader

-Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader
