Associate Buyer
Largest independently owned Daily deal company in the country is looking for outgoing, positive and strong buyers to join its team. As an Associate buyer, this person will utilize their entrepreneurial spirit and strong off-price negotiation skills to develop their own product category. Will work daily with vendors to purchase strong product to effectively meet financial targets.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain collaborative partnerships and negotiate effectively with vendors
Effectively communicate with assistant buyer, fellow buyers and other internal teams on a daily basis
Negotiate off-price product
Entrepreneurial spirit: open minded to new ideas and creating your own business within a business
Strong decision making skills: buyers are encouraged to have a high level of autonomy with the ability to negotiate and make on-the-spot decisions
Identify and shop online competitors
Manage substantial vendor matrix
Meet and/or surpass financial target expectations
Seek out new product and categories
Perform other duties as required by manager
Requirements:
Requirements/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience and degrees required:
3+ years buying experience preferred
Experience buying for an online and/or off-price channel strongly preferred
Bachelor’s Degree with an excellent academic record or relevant work experience
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office (Excel)
Experience in SAP Business One software a plus
Skilled in:
Strong negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
