The IT Application Director will provide thought, leadership and support for a complete Portfolio of Applications for their particular Line of Business.  This includes having overall responsibility for the business users who consume the applications in the Portfolio, managing all staff reporting to the Director (Managers, Individual Contributors), and for ensuring their Portfolio is both strategically and tactically in sync with the entire OSI Application and Infrastructure environment.  Their responsibility also includes managing application vendor relationships, understanding the technical architecture for the entire Portfolio, and managing the budget for all spending within the Portfolio.  Reporting to the Vice President of Applications, this position serves as a voice of IT applications and as technical advisor to all the business units encompassed by their Portfolio, resolves all related  IT issues, and maintains a high level of customer service and work flow for their business units.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides IT leadership for all applications necessary for business effectiveness; partners with business to determine and implement best solutions while aligned with broader corporate goals


• Serves as Information Technology liaison with all other IT Portfolios and with third party vendors


• Champions and oversees large scale project management within their Portfolio and IT at large


• Ensures IT integration efforts are kept current, delivered on-time, and accurately done


• Works effectively with corporate and restaurant level staff and effectively communicates relevant IT information to all levels of staff


• Builds and maintains vendor relationships; leverages application and service vendors


• Manages purchasing and implementation of software and support licenses


• Controls operational budgets and expenditures


• Is responsible for all aspects of performance management and career development for Associates under their jurisdiction


• Stays abreast of advances in technology

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.  Master's Degree a plus


• 12 - 15 years IT experience with at least 5 years IT management experience


• 5 to 8 years with Portfolio Domain Experience


• 5 years experience in software application development with sound knowledge of analysis, design, programming and agile practices


• Capable of working across various teams/groups to execute projects; thinks strategically and  tactically; ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously with minimal direction, while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals


• Strong and dynamic leader


• Strong crisis management skills and ability to remain focused and ensure effective decision making under pressure


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
